Unrest : An Unconventional RPG Set in Ancient India is a roleplaying video game set in Ancient India. The game includes exploration, combat, and conversation.
Number of players: Single-player
Ages: Recommended 13+
Time: Approximate 3 – 4 hours
Estimated Delivery: February 2013
The game itself is an app that will be available for Windows, Mac, and Linux in a DRM free downloadable format. Kickstarter backers also had the option of getting a physical copy of the game. Unrest “is a story driven RPG set in ancient India in the midst of an uprising” and “the majority of the game will consist of exploring the massive city of Bhimra.” The game includes adaptive narrative, including in cases where the player dies: the game doesn’t end, but rather it changes.
One nice aspect of the game is that it will support modding right out of the box. This is great since we’re not limited only to the stories created by Pyrodactyl Games, even though the original story does seem like a good one.
Pledge Levels: 21 levels ranging from $1 to $5,000
End Date: Jun 21, 2013
Chances of Sucecss
The campaign for Unrest : An Unconventional RPG Set in Ancient India ended long before I started this site. It was quite successful! Therefore the chances of success in terms of the campaign are 100%. In terms of building the product itself, it looks like the team at Pyrodactyl Games has made a lot of progress and I’d say the release should be out on time. If you missed the campaign, as I did, there is currently a preorder option for the digital version of the game available from their site.
Sense of Humor
I think what I like most about the team at Pyrodactyl Games so far is that they have a great sense of humor while still knowing how to get necessary tasks accomplished. Marketing is just as important in an industry as is the idea itself, and these people know how to market themselves and their product so check Unrest : An Unconventional RPG Set in Ancient India out for yourself.
