Something Different is an improvisational card game produced by Float a Goat Games. For those familiar with Fluxx, you might find Something Different to be similar to Fluxx in that it is a dynamic rule based game. However unlike Fluxx, Something Different requires complete interaction from the players. If you love improvisation, or games that have to physically get involved in the fun, than I would strongly suggest this game. This is definitely one of those games to play when you have a group of friends together.

For those who aren’t familiar with the game of Fluxx and similar games, it along with Something Different are based on a dynamic rule system. In other words, the rules are set by the cards that are drawn and played. The advantage to this type of game is that you do not have to learn any rules going into the game. The hard part though is keeping up with the rules as they change. This is also part of the fun of the game.
Something Different is a crazy improvisational card game about rules that constantly change, dueling your friends, and sometimes talking like a pirate. Race to empty your hand in this game of rules, but watch out; if you break one you’ll end up with more cards than you bargained for. Simple to learn and perfect for parties, this might just be the ‘something different’ you’re looking for!
In addition to the base set, a 50 card expansion set: something (blank), is also available thanks to their Kickstarter campaign reaching its stretch goals. In something (blank), players get to fill in missing words in the cards thus making the game play even more unique to the group.
You can purchase a copy of Something Different directly from Float a Goat’s site. They also have their first game, Zombies: A Game on a Glass available.
